Anvil Crawler

In this episode, we talk with Ed, Nick, Jason, and Robby of Anvil Crawler. This band is simply incredible. They create jaw dropping progressive rock/metal instrumental music that will blow you away. Their new album is called Hot Electrifying Color and it is a trip. It was a lot of fun to talk with the band and learn about how they formed and how they came up with the name of the band as well as their new album. Anvil Crawler is working on new music over the summer, but hopes to do some shows in September. Keep your eyes peeled to their social pages for the latest.

Black Note Graffiti

In this episode, we talk with Kris, Gabby, and Ricardo of Black Note Graffiti. The band has evolved over time into the dynamic, highly melodic, aggressive and progressive rock band they are today. We talked about what the evolution of the band was like and how they see the band today. They also shared stories on songwriting and their experiences the first time they performed together. The band is currently working on a new album which they hope to have out late in 2023. Their focus now is on a hot summer of shows including the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor on June 10th, NXNE in Toronto on June 16th, Chelsea Sounds and Sights on July 13th and Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids on July 14th.

Lori Stratton from the Stratton Setlist

In this episode, we talk with Lori Stratton from the Stratton Setlist. If you aren’t familiar, The Stratton Setlist features interviews and reviews from a wide range of regional music artists. Lori’s passion for all forms of music comes shining through in her writing. Her diehard support helps to spread the word on the vast array of musical talent we have in Michigan. Lori also contributes to the Ann Arbor District Library blog called Pulp with her musical insights. If all that wasn’t enough, Lori is also a part of the Michigan Music Alliance which is working to provide support for musicians in Michigan through education and community building. Be sure to follow the Stratton Setlist as you are bound to find some musical gems.

A Rueful Noise

In this episode, we talk with Jennifer, Nicholas, and Todd of A Rueful Noise. Together they craft songs that are dark, moody, and oh so very intriguing. We jumped into how A Rueful Noise came up with their excellent band name as well as diving into a few of their tunes which you can snag over on Bandcamp. A Rueful Noise are busy finishing up recording a full length album which hopefully will be out later this year. Stay tuned to their social media for updates. If you want to catch them live, they will be at The Avenue on May 13 and June 9th, then they will be in Ann Arbor at Winewood Organics on June 10th!

Forge The Sun

In this episode, we talk with Ally, Tristan, and Isaac of Forge The Sun. This band puts a progressive spin on hard rock to create spectacular music that is both captivating and exciting. Our chat with Forge The Sun goes into how the band got their name as well as the songwriting process. They have a new album called “Heart of the Sunrise” coming out later this Spring. Barker & Broski

In this episode, we talk with Chris and Mike from Barker and Broski. They are a singer-songwriter duo who create serious music which is all about fun. Their latest album called “The Coal Country Heartbreakers” is the third in a series that tells the story of a fictional character called Billy Bob. In addition to their music, Barker and Broski host a podcast called “Making It SMALL in Music”. They are using their podcast to highlight the hidden talents in Michigan music by talking with artists who are making great music, but are probably not on everyone’s radar (and perhaps should be).

Cosmic Sans

In this episode, we talk with Jeremy, Steven, Chris, and Allen from Cosmic Sans. Their new album called As Well is fantastic. When listening to their music I’m reminded of bands like the Foo Fighters, Screaming Trees, Local H, and The Toadies with a dab of Queens Of The Stone Age. It was great to get the stories of how the band came together as well as their influences and approach to songwriting.
